USHL
Games Of Nov. 17-23
We're looking forward to what Stephen Cover '09 will bring over these next years. A Providence College recruit, Cover had a junior-best 2-1-3 line on Nov. 22 for the Madison Capitols, and also had a goal one day earlier for a four-point weekend. A two-time USA Hockey Tier 1 National Champion at the 14U and 15U levels with Mount St. Charles Academy, Cover now has a 5-3-8 line in 18 games. Scouting of Cover for the 2027 NHL Draft is essentially already underway and will certainly heat up even more next season.
His teammate Max Rider '07 put up back-to-back multi-point (1-1-2) games for the first time in his two-year USHL career. A recent Western Michigan University commit - making his decision official on Oct. 30 - he has 16 points in 20 games, a career-high and nearly double the nine points he posted in 35 games last year. Rider joined the Capitols from St. Louis Park (Minn.) High School.
On Nov. 22, the Green Bay Gamblers' David Rozsival '07, a 2025 New Jersey Devils draft pick, registered his first two-goal game in North America. One day earlier, he earned the most points in a game in this part of the world, posting a 1-2-3 line for a 3-2-5 overall line for the two games. Rozsival, an alum of Bílí Tygři Liberec in his native Czechia, has 11 points through 20 games.
In net for the Gamblers, goaltender Joey Slavick '07 is on the first three-game winning streak of his three-year USHL career. He previously played two seasons with the U.S. NTDP Under-17 Team (2023-25) and Under-18 Team (2024-25). A third-round 2025 USHL Draft selection by Green Bay (38th overall), Slavick stopped 48 of 51 shots in back-to-back wins Nov. 21 and 22, adding to an earlier win on Nov. 15. Slavick has played in 39 games, and his six wins this year are already a career-best for the former Little Caesars goalie.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
The wait is over and Tynan Lawrence '08 is back on the ice - and NHL scouts continue to take notice! The second-year Muskegon Lumberjack is a consensus Top 10 overall pick for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. Since his return from a preseason injury, he's posted nine points in five games, including a line of 5-2-7 in the three games between Nov. 26 and 29. The Boston University (2027-28) recruit scored his first USHL hat trick on Nov. 29. Last year, starting as a 16-year-old, Lawrence posted 26 goals and 54 points in 53 games in the regular season and another 18 points in 14 playoff games en route to a Clark Cup Championship for the Lumberjacks. A 2025 USHL All-Rookie selection, Lawrence came to Muskegon from Shattuck-St. Mary's, with whom he played at the USA Hockey 14U (2023) and 16U (2024) Nationals. An "A" player in the Players To Watch List, he is predicted as a Top 10 pick next June by two TSN analysts, as well as many others in the industry.
Joining Tynan Lawrence on that 2024 Shattuck-St. Mary's 16U team is his former teammate Graham Jones '07. Currently suiting up for the Fargo Force, the former 18U National Champion - also with SSM - has recently improved to 17 points in 22 games this season. He notched a career-best 1-3-4 line on Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 26, and also added his league-leading fourth game-winning goal on Nov. 29, in addition to an assist on Nov. 28 for a 2-4-6 line in three games. They may have been teammates once, but he and Lawrence will soon be rivals as Jones is bound for the Boston College Eagles next season.
Another SSM 16U teammate of the above Jones and Lawrence is Anthony Bongo '07, a University of Michigan recruit on defense who registered four assists in three games (Nov. 26-29) for the second time this season and in his two-year career with the Sioux Falls Stampede. Last year, he was a USHL All-Rookie selection along with Lawrence. In 23 games, he has 12 points, just shy of the 14 points he posted last year in 53 games.
Goaltender Joey Slavick '07 has been on a roll, winning his sixth game in a row - and sixth since Nov. 15! No USHL goalie was busier or more successful in the last couple weeks of last month. Between Nov. 26 and Nov. 29, he stopped 66 of 69 shots, including his second career shutout of 31 saves on Nov. 28 for the Green Bay Gamblers. Prior to two years with the U.S. NTDP, he was an alum of past USA Hockey Nationals, playing at the 15U level for Little Caesars in 2023.
NAHL
Games Of Nov. 17-23
Veteran forward Drew Bowe '07 is close to passing his first year NAHL totals (16 points in 54 games) by recently scoring a 3-1-4 line for the Minnesota Mallards. His two goals on Nov. 22 equaled a career-best previously posted on Oct. 3, giving him 8-6-14 in 15 games, and 30 points for his career. Bowe was a 2023 USHL Futures Draft selection of the Madison Capitols, with whom he played two games last year. A Team Wisconsin alum, he represented that organization at the 2023 USA Hockey 15U Nationals.
Dennis Emesibe '08 is a newcomer to the NAHL, and he posted his best performance of the season with a 1-2-3 line on Nov. 21 for the Springfield Jr. Blues, part of a four-point weekend. He has improved to 12 points in 20 games this year. Emesibe has played several years for the Dallas Stars Elite program, including at the USA Hockey Nationals in 2023 (14U) and 2025 (16U). Emesibe was a 2025 NAHL Draft pick by the Jr. Blues, and also a 2025 USHL Draft pick by the Cedar Rapids Roughriders (fifth round, 82nd overall). In 2023, he was also drafted by the Kamloops Blazers in the U.S. Prospects Draft.
The Bismarck Bobcats' Cooper Williams '07 improved to third in NAHL goals with his 16th and 17th on Nov. 21. He had a 2-2-4 weekend overall, improving to 28 points in 21 games, ranking him in a tie for 11th overall in points. Williams, a Lake Superior State recruit, joined the NAHL from the BCHL's Prince George Spruce Kings. He is also a former Compuware player, joining that organization's team at the 2024 USA Hockey 16U Nationals. He was selected by the Bobcats in the 2025 NAHL Draft in the fourth round (124th overall).
Lone Star Brahmas goaltender Brady Krey '07 remains undefeated in regulation in his time so far in the NAHL, going 4-0-0-1, including his fourth straight win on Nov. 22. That day, he made a season-and career-best 35 saves on 36 shots. Krey got his start this year with the USHL's Madison Capitols, playing one game there after they had drafted him in the fifth round (69th overall) of the 2025 Phase II Draft. Krey was selected this year out of the Northstar Christian Academy AAA team.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
Owen Chartier '07 scored twice on Nov. 26 and added three assists between Nov. 28-29, giving the second-year Watertown Shamrock a tie for career highs in goals in a game and most points in a three-game stretch. Additionally, his first two-goal game this season on Nov. 26 gave him a career-best second game-winning goal. After posting 26 points in 53 games last year, Chartier is already at 14 points in 16 games this year. Chartier is another veteran of Shattuck-St. Mary's and played with them at the 2022 14U Nationals, and he joined the Shamrocks from the Windy City Storm AAA team. He has also played in four USHL games between 2023-25 as he was a 2023 USHL Futures Draft selection by the Tri-City Storm.
With one game, Bismarck Bobcats rookie Mark Evans '07 pulled to a point per game average in 22 games. With a 1-2-3 line on Nov. 26, Evans tied his season-and career-best for points with two earlier games this season. The Mars, Pa., native represented the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite at three different USA Hockey Nationals in 2022 (14U), 2023 (15U) and 2024 (16U).
Another player jumping to (and over) the point per game average this past weekend was Fairbanks Ice Dogs rookie Mack Diggins '08. He posted a 2-1-3 line on Nov. 29 for his third three-point outing, and he also extended a point streak to six games with nine points in that stretch going back to Nov. 14. He now has a team-leading 19 assists, as well as 24 points in 23 games for the season. A former Team Wisconsin standout, he represented that organization at the USA Hockey 14U Nationals in 2023.
Andrei Nikolaev '09 moved into a tie for second in shutouts after giving up no goals in three straight games between Nov. 22 and 29, including shutouts of 21 and 13 shots on Nov. 28-29 for the New Jersey Jr. Titans. A Boston University recruit who will join Tynan Lawrence in Beantown in 2028, Nikolaev also stopped all 24 shots he faced in relief work on Nov. 22. He is also second in wins with 10, and fifth in save percentage at .923. Playing his first year in North America, Nikolaev joined the Titans from Spartak Moskva's 16U program.
NCDC
Games Of Nov. 17-23
A former Team Wisconsin 15U Nationals teammate of Drew Bowe, the Lewiston MAINEiacs' Gabriel Braun '07 has helped his team to an 11-game winning streak. Braun helped out over the past three games between Nov. 17 and 22, registering a 1-4-5 line, improving to 16 points in 15 games since joining in October. He had previously played in one NAHL game with his home state Wisconsin Windigo in September.
In just a short time with the Ogden Mustangs, Hudson Weber-Stewart '07 has proven a huge addition for his team since also joining in October. He is on a three-game, five-point scoring streak including a season-best 2-1-3 against the defending Dineen Cup Champion Idaho Falls Spud Kings on Nov. 22. Overall, since joining the Mustangs from the NAHL's Philadelphia Rebels (with whom he also played in 2024-25), he has a 4-3-7 line in seven games.
In goal for the Rockets Hockey Club, Jakub Sirhal '07 earned his second shutout of the season (and second in five starts) by stopping all 25 shots faced on Nov. 20. Sirhal improved to 7-5-1-0 in this, his first North American season. Since joining from HC Slovan Bratislava in his native Slovakia, Sirhal has registered an impressive .925 save percentage.
Another top performer in net in the NCDC recently was Blake McMeniman '07, who is fairly new to the Islanders Hockey Club's NCDC team, but he's been in the Islanders organization at the youth/Midget levels for many years. He was with their 16U team before joining Kimball Union Academy for the past two seasons. Recently, he earned his sixth win of the season with 29 saves on 30 shots against another strong NCDC team in the Northern Cyclones. McMeniman now has a 6-1-1-0 record.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
Gabe Braun '07 finished a 12-point, nine-game November run with a season-and career-best three point (1-2-3) game on Nov. 29, giving him 19 points in 17 games for the first-year Lewiston MAINEiacs. Braun is another product of Team Wisconsin (though never a Nationals teammate of Mack Diggins), and he was also a four-year standout player for his hometown Fond du Lac Springs High School in Wisconsin. He originally started this season with the NAHL's Wisconsin Windigo, who drafted him in the 2025 NAHL Draft.
Gabriel Boivin '08 has been a regular resident in this column, and his place at second in NCDC scoring is good evidence of his regularity of strong performances. He had three assists over two games on Nov. 24-25 to improve to 32 points in 23 games. He was a 2024 QMJHL draft selection by the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, and played in 2024-25 with the Universel Sherbrooke team in the USPHL Premier, racking up 51 points in 40 regular season games, and then an additional 13 points in 10 playoff games, including Sherbrooke's run to the USPHL Premier Nationals.
A one-time WHL Bantam Draft pick, Simon Ward '07 has been a great late addition to the first-year Northern Maine Pioneers. He had two assists on Nov. 29, followed by two goals and an assist on Nov. 30, and he now has a line of 4-3-7 in nine games since his first NCDC game on Nov. 2. He played through November with the MJHL's Swan Valley Stampeders, registering one goal in eight games. Ward played last year with the B.C. Elite Hockey League's Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
John Gazzola '07 notched his second shutout of th e season with his best performance for the Jersey Hitmen, turning away all 34 shots faced on Nov. 25. Gazzola's eight wins are tied for fifth-most in the league, and he also holds a 1.90 goals against average, good for fifth among goalies with at least 10 games played. His .936 save percentage is also good for top 10 in that category among goalies with 10+ games under their blades. Gazzola joined the Hitmen as a youth player, essentially playing his entire career there save one season. He helped the Hitmen 18U team win the Tier 1 Hockey Federation (THF) Championship last year.
EHL
Games Of Nov. 17-23
Ernests Muska '07 has become the EHL's top scorer, coming off a five-point weekend and - believe it or not - his first hat trick scored on Nov. 19. He added an assist that day and another on Nov. 22 to keep alive a nine-game scoring streak of 27 points. He scored 10 points in his first 11 games in North America through Halloween, and then blasted off like a rocket, giving him 37 points in 20 games. He previously played for HS Falcons in Latvia's second division last year.
As Muska goes, typically so does his HC Rhode Island teammate Aiden Forcier '07, who rose to third in league scoring with 35 points in 20 games. His 17 goals are also second in the EHL. Forcier only played on Nov. 19 and not in the Nov. 22 game, scoring a 2-2-4 line in that single performance. He has 21 of his 35 points in his last eight games since Nov. 1.
Forward Steven Kannenberg '07 has been on the upswing for the Bridgewater Bandits lately. In addition to posting a 2-1-3 line in his last two games, he has five of his seven points from his last five games going back to Nov. 6. He has skated in 17 games for Bridgewater since joining this year from Castle View (Colo.) High School.
Defenseman Jack Copponi '07 is getting to be a consistent helping hand for the East Coast Wizards. He has assists in four straight games, including the three played Nov. 18-21, tacking on one more Nov. 25. In seven games since joining from the NCDC's Worcester Railers Jr. Hockey Club, Copponi has six assists. He played for Worcester Academy prior to starting his junior career this year.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
The Eastern Hockey League saw only three games over our selected dates.
Defenseman Jack Copponi '07 earned an assist for a fourth straight game for the East Coast Wizards on Nov. 25. Copponi joined the Wizards in late October from the NCDC's Worcester Railers Junior Hockey Club, and he now has six points - all assists - for the Wizards. Copponi started his junior hockey career this year after a productive run for Worcester Academy, a prep school.
With full action returning this week, we are excited to see more EHL players spotlighted next week.
NA3HL
Games Of Nov. 17-23
Ivan Korshikov '08 is a goal machine, scoring eight in his last three games, including a 4-1-5 line on Nov. 19. Between Nov. 18-21, he notched an 8-2-10 line and he has a six-game scoring streak of 18 points going back to Nov. 8, including a previous hat trick on Nov. 14. In 11 games since joining the New Jersey Jr. Titans in late October, he has registered 23 points. Korshikov put up 70 points in 60 games last year for the Atlantic Coast Academy AAA team.
Mikhail Mishin '08 is another product of Yaroslavl, Russia, but outside of maybe youth hockey, this is the first time he and Korshikov have worn the same team's jersey. Mishin scored his first junior goal on Nov. 18 and added eight assists between Nov. 18-22 for nine points. He has 12 points scored in each of his five NA3HL games since joining ahead of the Titans' Nov. 14 game. He was previously with the BCHL's Sherwood Park Crusaders, posting two assists in 10 games there. Mishin scored 106 points with the Ohio Blue Jackets 16U AAA team in 64 games last year.
Brayden Pelcl '07 stands as the fifth-leading scorer in the NA3HL, currently at 67 points in 20 games for the Louisiana Drillers. He has scored 27 points over each of his last seven games, including his run of 3-7-10 in three games between Nov. 21-23. He joined the Drillers this year from Prior Lake (Minn.) High School.
The second straight win for second-year junior Jacob Brumm '07 was accomplished in spectacular fashion, as he turned away 60 of 62 shots in a Willmar Warhawks victory on Nov. 21. Brumm split 2024-25 between the Omaha Mastery AAA team and the USPHL Premier's Henderson Force.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
The Texas Brahmas' Tyler Conrad '07 finished November absolutely on fire, scoring nine points in a five-game point streak between Nov. 21-29. Conrad is a first-year junior who came on board from the Texas Tigers 18U AA team that finished as Bronze Medalists in the USA Hockey 18U Tier II Nationals last spring. He had matching 1-2-3 lines on Nov. 29 and 30, and also scored a goal on Nov. 28 to put him at 17 points in 17 games. Conrad has also played for the Dallas Stars Elite and was part of their team at the Tier I 15U Nationals in 2023.
His Brahmas teammate, third-year junior Benjamin Humphreys '07, registered his second four-point game on Nov. 30. His previous - both 1-3-4 lines - came on Nov. 2 to nicely bookend the 11th month of the year. Like Conrad, Humphreys elevated his point per game average to an even 1.00 with 22 points through 22 games. Humphreys previously played two seasons in the Kootenay International Junior League with his hometown Spokane Braves in Washington state.
Defenseman Gordon Jennings '07 scored his first two junior goals on Nov. 29, including the regulation game-winner in a tight 4-3 victory for his Great Falls Americans. Jennings also had two assists on Nov. 28 for his first four-point weekend. He leads all Americans defensemen with 14 points in 19 games. Jennings was a longtime Team Alaska player, as well as skating four varsity seasons for South Anchorage High School.
Brody Kunst '07 is undefeated in his three starts this season for the Wausau Cyclones, including a season-and career-best 36 saves on 37 shots in his third win on Nov. 28. He has a 0.79 GAA, having given up just one goal in each of his games going back to Oct. 18, and his .975 save percentage is the best for all goalies with at least five appearances. His first two appearances, on Sept. 27 and Oct. 3, both saw him turn away all of the 22 shots he faced in relief efforts. Kunst split last year between the Minnesota Grey Ducks 18U AA team and Mankato East High School. He was voted Team MVP for Mankato East last year.
USPHL Premier
Games Of Nov. 17-23
Braden Amidon '07 strung 13 points over five games in five days between Nov. 19-23, including a 2-3-5 line on Nov. 19. Amidon's overall line in that space was 6-7-13, part of an overall eight-game, 17-point streak. That forms the majority of his 22 points in 19 games for the Boston Jr. Rangers. He joined the Jr. Rangers from North Middlesex Regional High School in Massachusetts, and he also played for the Northern Cyclones 19U Prep team last year.
On the other side of the country, the Fresno Monsters' Vertti Sakko '07 continues to be a driving force, scoring 39 points in 15 games this year so far. That places him in a tie for 11th in the league scoring race. Sakko registered a 2-8-10 line in a three-game series Nov. 21-23, part of a four-game scoring streak with 14 points in that space. In Finland last year, he played for HJT Haukat J18.
On the blue line, second-year Hawkesbury Knights defenseman Zakary Corriveau '07 has pulled up to 19 points in 18 games, one point shy of the 20 points he contributed in 37 games. In a single game on Nov. 22, he scored a 2-6-8 line. Prior to joining the Knights last year, he had played for the Le Sommet Faucons in both the USPHL Elite and North American Prep Hockey League.
Welcome to the USPHL Premier, Antonin Robert '08! Robert stopped all 27 shots for a shutout in his junior debut for Universel Sherbrooke on Nov. 22. Robert previously played in the RSEQ league in his native Quebec for Ecole Fadette Vert et Noir, located in Ste-Hyacinthe, Que.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
A second-year Elmira Impact forward, Nathan Riendeau '07 has passed his 2024-25 points and more than doubled his 2024-25 goals already. He has 13 goals and 18 points in 17 games. He had two straight two-goal games for the first time Nov. 29-30 and he also added an assist for a five-point weekend. He had a line of 5-7-12 in 44 games for the Impact last year. Riendeau joined the Impact in 2024 from College Charles-Lemoyne in Quebec's 18U scholastic league, RSEQ.
Artur Ovsepyan '08 had himself quite the week. Along with his first NCDC game in a call-up with that league's P.A.L. Jr. Islanders, he also racked up a 2-4-6 line in two games for the Premier Jr. Islanders team. He split last year between the USPHL Elite and Premier WBS Knights teams and started this year with the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes at the T1EHL 18U level. Originally from Moscow, Russia, he now has 26 points in nine Premier games, scoring multiple points in each game.
Maxime Houde '07, a first-year junior for the Montreal Black Vees, earned his first shutout at this level on Nov. 24 with a 21-save blanking. His fourth win of the season made him 4-2-0-1, since joining the Black Vees from Ecole Lucille-Teasdale in the same Quebec scholastic 18U league that produced Nathan Riendeau.
In that same game on Nov. 24 where Houde got his shutout, we also must praise Universel Sherbrooke's Antonin Robert '08 for his performance in stopping 39 of 40 shots in a 2-0 loss, the last goal of which was an empty-netter by the Black Vees. Since joining Universel in mid-November, Robert has stopped 67 of 68 shots, including a 28-save shutout on Nov. 22, for which he was highlighted last week in this space. He is another RSEQ product, joining from Ecole Fadette Vert et Noir.
EHL Premier
Games Of Nov. 17-23
Dominic Moushon '08 has given himself a 10-point cushion in the EHL Premier scoring race, improving to 43 points after a single-game career-best 3-3-6 performance on Nov. 22 for the New Jersey Bears. In two seasons, he now has 83 points in just 57 games, including 35 points in a continuing 15-game point streak that started on Oct. 4. Hopefully, someone in the EHL (or elsewhere) can give him a look at the next level soon.
A former teammate of Ernests Muska with the HS Falcons in Latvia, New England Wolves forward Antons Malinins '08 posted a North American-and junior-best 1-2-3 line on Nov. 22 to improve to 10 points in 19 games.
Union Thunder Defenseman Tai Jausovec '08 set up four goals with assists in his games of Nov 21-22, extending a point streak to three games and five assists. The Slovenia native now has 10 points in 17 EHLP games and also saw an EHL call-up with the New York Apple Core in October. He came out of Slovenia's HK Maribor program.
With a 25-save win on Nov. 22 for the Wolves, Noah Poisson '08 remains undefeated in regulation at 2-0-1-1 with a .948 save percentage. Poisson is new to junior hockey from the Quebec 18U AAA league's La Sarre Conquerants.
Games Of Nov. 24-30
Much like the EHL, the EHLP saw limited action last week - literally one game.
With a goal and an assist in a Nov. 30 loss, Larry Miller III '08 remains the Philadelphia Little Flyers' leading scorer with 14 points in 15 games. The former Palmyra Black Knights AA player is also playing for Berks Beast seven-school co-op high school team.
USPHL Elite
Games Of Nov. 17-23
Donovin Perhach '08 is the Elite's leading scorer, but it's only a matter of time before the Elmira Impact move him permanently to the Premier team. He scored 6-3-9 between Nov. 22-23, including back-to-back hat tricks. His last games before those were at the Premier level, where he scored his first goal at that level on Nov. 15 and he now has two points in three Premier games. Perhach has 69 points in 43 combined regular season and playoff games in the Elite.
Another strong Elite performer who's already scored in the Premier is Carolina Jr. Hurricanes forward Ethan Balamucki '08. He scored a 3-1-4 line in two games Nov. 22-23, including the GWG's in both. He leads the Jr. Canes in goals with 13 and has 17 points in 18 games. Balamucki scored his first Premier goal on Oct. 25. A lifelong Carolina Jr. Hurricanes player, he represented the Jr. Canes youth organization at the 14U and 16U Nationals in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
For the Hershey Cubs, defenseman Jacob Lefebvre '08 registered five assists in three games Nov. 22 and 23 at the USPHL Detroit Showcase. Lefebvre has played in three Premier games for the Cubs, earning his first Premier point - an assist - on Oct. 15. Lefebvre has 13 points in 13 Elite games, after joining from a 2024-25 season spent in both Finland (KiePo) and France (Clermont).
Games Of Nov. 24-30
Giovanni Rizzo '08 is the leading scorer for the Chicago Crush, having put up 24 points in the 21 games he's played for that team. He has also played games in the USPHL Elite this year for the Chicago Cougars and Chicago T-Rex, as well as the 18U team the Chicago Prospect Stars. He posted his first junior hat trick on Nov. 30, just a couple weeks after playing his first three USPHL Premier games - two for the Cougars and one for the T-Rex - between Nov. 10-16. Rizzo joined Chicago's junior teams from his hometown Orland Park (Ill.) Vikings, for whom he played for several years.
Atlanta MadHatters veteran Tyler Mason '08 scored his first career overtime game-winning goal on Nov. 30, part of a 1-1-2 performance. The Birmingham, Ala., native has nine points in 18 games this year and 20 points for his two-year career in the Elite. Before joining Atlanta in 2024, he played for the Twin City Ice Mavericks 16U AAA team.
Donovin Perhach '08 maintains his spot as the leading scorer in the Elite after posting back-to-back hat tricks Nov. 23 and 24, and also adding a goal on Nov. 30 for four goals in his three games between Nov. 24 and 30. He has 40 points in 20 games, and also has scored one goal in three USPHL Premier games, all for the Elmira Impact.
Kai Joy '08 helped the Hershey Cubs to a big win over Perhach's Impact on Nov. 29 with 33 saves on 34 shots. The next day, he stopped all eight shots he faced in relief in a Cubs loss. Joy is one of 15 goalies to have seen 10 games or more in the Elite this year, and he is tied for third in wins with eight. Along with a strong 8-1-1-0 record, his .960 save percentage is the best for any goalie with six or more games played, as is his 1.16 GAA. Joy is another RSEQ product from Westwood High School in St-Lazare, Que
